How To Get There

Chiarafonte is well connected to the town. Whether you’re travelling by car or by train, it’s easy to get to and from Florence and Arezzo.


By Car

From Florence (downtown): follow directions for Bagno a Ripoli / Arezzo. Pass through Bagno a Ripoli, Osteria Nuova and San Donato in Collina, then descend until you enter Cellai. At the very beginning of the village, 100 mt. after the gas station, take the uphill road left (direction: Fontepetrini) for about 5 Km. Follow directions for Chiarafonte B&B.

From the highway (Incisa - Reggello): after exiting the tollbooth, turn left for Incisa. After 500 mt. turn right and follow directions for San Donato. Pass through Burchio, Palazzolo and Le Valli. Enter Cellai and after 1 km take the uphill road right (direction: Fontepetrini) for about 5 Km. Warning: it’s difficult to see it because it’s hidden by a building. Follow directions for Chiarafonte B&B.

From the highway (Firenze Sud): after exiting the tollbooth, don’t follow the road for Firenze Centro (downtown). Instead, take the first road right and pass through Ponte a Ema, Antella, Osteria Nuova and San Donato in Collina. Descend until you enter Cellai. At the very beginning of the village, 100 mt. after the gas station, take the uphill road left (direction: Fontepetrini) for about 5 Km. Follow directions for Chiarafonte B&B.



By Train

The nearest station is Rignano Sull’Arno, about 25 mins. from Firenze Santa Maria Novella (Florence main station) and 40 mins. from Arezzo. Check timetables on the Italian railways’ company website. Tickets are sold at the station and at the newspapers’ kiosk nearby.

Chiarafonte is less than 10 minutes by car from the station: Vera or Massimo will gladly give you a lift upon request.
